Grain is one of the most widely hauled commodities on the rails. The Cornerstone Series Surge Bin and Conveyor Leg kits will look great on any post-1960 layout. The Conveyor Leg is the transport system that moves grain throughout elevator complexes. The kit includes the tall conveyor, plus several ground-level augers for use between bins and conveyors. Grain handling businesses usually have a couple of legs, one for dry and one for wet grain; keep this in mind when building your grain complex. The Surge Bin is fed by a chute from the wet conveyor leg. It then feeds the grain dryer and dry grain moves in an auger to the dry conveyor leg and storage bin. In many locations, a second surge bin, fed by the dry conveyor leg, is used for loading grain trucks
